What is Acro?

No. Beginners are welcome! Students work at their individual skill level and progress as they build the strength, flexibility, and technique needed for more advanced skills.

Not exactly. While Acro and gymnastics share many skills, Acro is designed to complement dance. Our classes emphasize controlled transitions, flexibility, balance, tumbling, and incorporating acrobatic movements into dance.

As students progress, they may work toward more advanced tumbling and acrobatic skills. Students must first demonstrate the strength, technique, flexibility, and control required to perform each skill safely.

Skills are taught through progressive exercises and proper technique. Students develop the necessary strength and body control before moving on to more difficult skills, with instructor guidance and spotting when appropriate.

Students should wear fitted dance or athletic clothing that allows instructors to clearly see body alignment and movement. Once your child enrolls, we’ll go over the complete SDA uniform package and class requirements.
